"Recently we bought a used aluminum horse trailer that had 3 hinges on the back tailgate that were stuck froze up and broken off. Trailer repair man said that the only way to fix it was to cut all the hinges off and start over with 7/16" rod instead of 1/2" rod. Cost was $500. I purchased Strong Arm liquid and drilled FOUR 1/8" holes in each broken hinge. In 30 minutes with a vise grip I had them moving freely and made an appointment to have them welded.
